“For a seed to achieve its greatest expression, it must come completely undone. The shell cracks, its insides come out and everything changes.”
All too often we are told to “stay strong”, to “toughen up”; we push through our emotions because that’s the way we are conditioned to handle our situations. But, in order to grow, we must experience all those emotions. To feel is to be alive. We mustn’t invalidate our feelings to avoid feeling them. Our vulnerability is important to our personal growth, our ability to love and animate ourselves. Heartbreak, pain, grief, these are all struggles of life that we have to experience in order to properly heal and find closure in the everyday bumps. To come undone and unravel from our layers of censorship is hard; it is easier said than done. But it is crucial to crack our shells and learn from the way our emotions course through our bodies. Anyone could look at a person who allows themselves to be undone and think that this person is a mess, a destructive and uncontrolled individual. However, the person that comes undone is the person that grows and embraces every part of their emotion to magnify the better parts of life.
Goal: Allow yourself to come undone.
